I Get Paid to Work Here!?!

I do owe you a fantastic fall picture - figured I'd post a long overdue spring one first!
As I walk around campus to go to meetings/check on projects, I'm always amazed by what a beautiful environment I'm been transplanted to.
I used to be such a city girl who loved the gritty reality of my surroundings (which I still do). But now I can also appreciate the beauty that I now find myself surrounded by.
Talk about opposites.

Got Conduit?

One of the most complicated / expensive and fun projects I've gotten to work on.
Although this isn't one of the most flattering pics, but it has special meaning to me. It was taken for my former partner in crime here at work who passed a year ago.
You'll be missed - and I've come to realize that your shoes here will never be filled.

Pick a Color Any Color

I've been on the edge of extinction for quite a while. "Falling Off the Face of the Earth" - as I like to call it.

At times I can be very much introverted. Live my life and not really rely on the outside world. Homeownership has part to do with it, as well as life in general.

Time to climb out from my rock and engage the world again. I've been working on lots of fun projects and should start posting them.

As for the pic - the paint colors do start to grow on you after a while (as lonf as you don't think of a beach umbrella).

Happy Cactus

What a happy new home. I'm so glad to have moved into my new home ... I can have healthy plants again! Hooray for direct sunlight! Many of my sun loving plants have struggled the past few years with complete lack of any good sunlight. This little guy has had to live in my fathers greenhouse for a while...I couldn't give him what he needed.

Wish I Was Back Here ...

Another fantastic trip to the DR with one of my favorite ladies.
We hiked on foot and on horseback (nothing like stopping by the local Avis - to rent a horse for the afternoon) to an amazing waterfall to spend some time cooling off.
But of course there was lots of amazing time to be spent with her family and one very special christening to attend... another successful trip!

The Project House That Didn't

This was the first... ARE YOU NUTS project house that I looked at buying. I didn't move quite quick enough (we're talking by 24 hours)
It was a whole lot to handle, and in my crazy - I like to torture myself - ways... it would have been 'fun'.
I did however fall into a much smaller more graspable project house.
Here's hoping the new owners of this disaster gives her the love she deserves!

Knock Knock

It appears to be over six months since I've last been here! Wow, alot has been happening.

This photo is from an enjoyable evening of baseball with some friends.

Not sure what else there is to say, other than...some things are better left unsaid!

Bring Out the SJ Roots

You can take the girl out of Jerz, but...

All I have to say is look at the landscape. BREATHTAKING!!!

She's Going Gliding!

View from the glider...
Gotta love the red yarn!

Gliding is a truly unique experience. I can see why the glider pro really got into it. They have a pretty cool set up. They live on the airfield .... knee deep in their hobby and just take people up all day. Talk about the ultimate retirement job!

Grand Canyon

I couldn't pick just one... the plane ride in!
The helicopter ride down!
The boat ride on the river!
And that folks is the Grand Canyon!!!! AMAZING

Holiday Runaway

It's nice to just get away at times. Being off from work and away from home is a priceless combination.
