LUCY!!!!

Eekkk ... I almost forgot!

Lucy is an addition to summer list. I haven't climbed her since I was a child, but I've been fascinated my whole life as to the purpose of her existance!

I found a magazine clipping that I had saved ... stay tuned for pictures of the real thing.

What about the building?

Welcome to the observation deck at the Empire State Building. An exciting yet disappointing excursion.

Exciting to see the site and step foot in such a great architectural landmark. Disappointing that the view was the focus and no information about the building was imparted on this endeavor. To make matters worse the building was under construction, the only homage I could pay to her glory was to look up at the spire. Here's looking at you kid!

Art

The beat up milk can that sits adjacent to my entry is a part of PA history. It was created by the late Claypoole in a fast dying Pennsylvania Dutch tradition.

I love the simplicity of colors intermingled to create a more complex design. The milk can was found at a farmers market. It was under appreciated and under valued ... a small treasure that I took home once I noticed the signature.

MMMMmmmmmmmm

My favorite part of springtime! Lots of yummy crawfish.

Crawdad #1

The first crawfish boil of the season went well. The weather couldn't be more perfect!
The kids did a very good job with the sidewalk chalk!

Baseball Buddy

Bobb the Baseball Buddy! We've had a ton of fun thus far at Phillies games. He's part of the reason you've gotten lots of random baseball pictures!

I cannot wait for the fist big tailgate!

More Architecture

Are you tired of the architecture yet? I know, once I start playing outside more the blog will contain more than architecture and baseball!

What an interesting combination.

Caught

Now you know what I stare at! It's a shame that today's architecture doesn't really have much of a legacy like more historic buildings. There were gargoyles, stained glass, or even masonry as an art. The architecture of today is so streamlined, a kit of parts if you will, that lacks the pure skill and expertise of years past.

I think our legacy will be signage. Giant names plastered on buildings to show who ponied up the most money. Can you see it now ... a museum dedicated to giant signs.

More Texture

Mini window in my office.

It's a nice grouping of materials/textures. Again, me with the old/new. GEEEEEEKKKKKK

Texture / Lines

I'm a weirdo, but I like texture, lines and the distress that comes with time to objects.

You looking at me?

Have you ever wondered what a cat stares at?

I sure have, and this is what one of them was looking at the other night. Grass by twilight.

Spring

Springtime on campus is quickly becoming one of my favorite times of the year. I'm glad to be back in the groove.

Hmmmm... maybe I'll add regular blog updates to the summer resolutions list!

Celebration

Kudos to Ms EAL for finishing Law School. After a fabulous 2.5 hour leisurely dinner at Fork we rounded out the evening Latin dancing. Always great company and always a great time.

There was lots of catching up and funny / intriguing stories to be told. People truly amaze me at times. I wonder how so many people can become so far gone... are they aware, or truly naive? At times I feel like no one has any idea ... they are living a life they feel they should have. They lack the capacity to stop and take it in. One drama after another.

Phew... glad to be in the presence of such a good friend.

And Back Around...

Back into the music world I dove.

I think I was the baby in the audience, but Peter Nero's solo show with his personal piano in a relatively small venue was well worth every penny. What a fun night!

I don't understand people who do not participate in anything culturally enriching. What fun is going to the bar drinking with friends and just going to work and watching tv??? Can you really grow as an individual that way? Has our mass marketed society produced this lazy class?

Broad Cultural Spectrum

From Princeton / Julliard Jazz to Phillies!

Gotta love it. Baseball with the guys was fun, there were many dollar dogs to be had!

I must admit Phillies Season Tickets have been a fun thus far.

PU Jazz

I stopped by campus on a Saturday evening to catch the PU and Julliard Jazz Ensembles.

What an exciting show. Julliard just blew me away. I really like their brass style ... they really seem to test their limits. (in my very non techinal opinion)

Got ya!

I bet you thought I was still going to leave you hanging on the resolution front!

Anyway, last years resolutions focused on re prioritizing things, ridding myself of technology based entertainment on weekends. Harking back to simple enjoyments, the outdoors, reading and exploring new things.

This years resolutions are quite similar. I still yearn for the outdoors, a good book, some crawdad, baseball and the beach. Apparently fishing has been added to my list. Who would have thought!

Resolutions summer 2008!!! (drumroll please!)

>Remain technology free on weekends!
>Read
>Get to the Beach 10 times (up from the 6 last summer!)
>play outside
>hike, kayak
>crawfish X2
>6 Phillies tailgates
>Zern's Farmer's Market
>Fish
>Chicago
>Bike ride through Valley Forge
>Dancing!

>>>and a partridge in a pear tree!

It's enough to keep me busy, although it does not seem so challenging after all the fun I had last summer!

Sweet Tooth!!!!

I love love love sweet stuff. Dessert was spent coming up with my summer resolutions...

NYY 3

I know, I know...

Way too many Yankees pictures for a Philly gal, but I could not resist.

I got to see Joba pitch ... talk about exciting!

Stay tuned for Phillies tailgating pics once the weather warms up. Not to mention the trip to Chicago to see the Phils take on the Cubs!

NYY 2

The Yankees officially have the coolest grounds crew out there.

I guess they need to make up for the fact that there is no other on field entertainment ...

ahm ... Phanatic!!!

NYY

Welcome to the dump that is Yankee Stadium. I can see what people are holding on to. The nostalgia that comes with old parks cannot be tossed aside, but come on... the dank conditions! I am by NO means a Yankees fan, but shouldn't a stellar team with a giant bankroll have a better home?

I was happy I went, it's hard to see historic architecture go.

Boooooo

Apparently I need to take better care when taking these images.

Either way ... 7.3 million is the absurd amount this fab gov'r has spent on the proposed toll hike.

Not to mention the figure that came out noting the amount spent on overtime!

Heaven?!?!

E Street Radio! The coolest new addition EVER. Yes, this Jersey Girl is a major geek.

Fuzzy Wuzzy Was a Bear

Old pic...but I liked it. Fuzzy Trish ready for a music filled evening. Cultural evenings are such a nice change of pace... read on!

hahha

What can I say ...

I could not resist! Yes, I know... the sneaks NEED to be retired, they are starting to look pink. I've been looking for new ones and have not found any yet :(

It's been a while

Just when you thought you were feet free!

Enjoy!

Argh

Open up and say .... ahhhhhhhh

Spring brings lots of fun activities. The list thus far: baseball, chair refinishing, sketching, crawfish (x2 this year!!!), hiking, reading, biking, dancing, cookouts...

Still looking forward to trips to Ontario, NYC, DC, Nashville, Chicago along with random weekend hiking trips. Let's not forget all the SUNday beach trips.

I can't wait to continue with the festivities! Ah ... the simple pleasures!

Phils!!!!!!!!!

Ah, April baseball ... a welcome addition. It just has me wishing for MAY baseball! A little warmer, less rain ... and a more aligned team!

Spring by twilight

Mmmmmm how I love spring and all the great change that has happened recently! It's good to be among peers (no more naive juveniles stressing out life).

Back to this image... a little late night garden clipping!

EEEEEEKkkkkkkk

Wow...a whole month! Bad bad Trish...

Scolding over... I spent one of the warmer days a month ago in good old Bridgeton, NJ.

Fun fun fun...
